Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo Observes First Year in Community
HOUSTON, Texas, February 9, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo is excited to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo began seeing patients on February 5, 2016 and reports over 4,800 patients have received exceptional emergency medical care at this location since it opened. The Amarillo center is located at 2105 South Western St., 79109. The center’s phone number is 806-353-3200.
In its first year, Neighbors Amarillo achieved the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized independent accreditation organization committed to certifying facilities with the safest, highest quality, best-value health care.
Besides extraordinary ER care with short wait times, this Neighbors Emergency Center has also brought approximately 30 jobs to the local economy by hiring board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.
The Amarillo location’s Medical Director is Donald Hubbard, MD, and the location’s Facility Director is Joshua Bailey, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients we serve.
“Neighbors doors have been open in Amarillo for a year and we have made countless friends and touched many lives in our community,” said Bailey. “We have set high standards for freestanding emergency care in Amarillo and we are often imitated, but never duplicated. The name ‘Neighbors’ has become synonymous with exceptional healthcare in our area. We look forward to serving Amarillo for years to come and continuing our mission to be the Best Neighbors Ever.”
Being active in and connected to the Amarillo community is paramount to Neighbors and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.
Neighbors values first responders and sponsored two teams in the Randall County Sheriff’s Office Mudmania, a mud volleyball tournament, to raise money for the RCSO Employee Assistance Fund. Neighbors often collaborates with local first responders in every community we serve.
Outstanding medical staff are part of the Neighbors family and recently two Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo nurses were named to the “Top 25 Nurses in the Texas Panhandle” list. Neighbors is proud of nurses Christopher Heath and Terrah Jamandron.
Over 3,000 families attended Night of Discovery and enjoyed the Neighbors-sponsored inflatable rock wall and zip line. Neighbors literally lit up the night with the light-up bouncy balls for every child at the event.
Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo hosted an interactive booth at Wing Wars, where Neighbors sponsored the kid’s area which featured a Neighbor’s Teddy Bear ER. Children enjoyed caring for their complimentary Neighbors teddy bear with some children visiting the Neighbors booth multiple times throughout the evening.
The year concluded by Neighbors Amarillo teaming up with Fun 99.7 to be the title sponsor of “Stuff a Bus”, which collected toys for children in the CASA program. Over 1,100 toys were donated to brighten the holiday season for area children in the foster care system.
Neighbors also hosted Halloween trick-or-treaters at the center along with a costume contest with 96.9 KISS FM.
Throughout the year, Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo welcomed community leaders, media, and our neighbors to tour the facility and learn why we are their Best Neighbors Ever in the community.
Neighbors’ core values of being compassionate and patient-centered; treating patients in a nurturing and honorable way; having friendly and welcoming employees; and always being transparent, accountable and cost-conscious are demonstrated through the numerous events that Neighbors Emergency Center Amarillo was proud to participate in during their first year in the community.
