Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville Honored to Serve Area in First Year
HOUSTON, Texas, March 30, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville is pleased to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville began seeing patients on March 26, 2016 and reports more than 3,600 patients have received premiere ER care at this location since it opened. The Brownsville center is located at 2073 E. Ruben Torres Sr. Blvd., 78526. The center’s phone number is 956-546-1524.
In its first year, Neighbors Brownsville achieved the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized independent accreditation organization committed to certifying facilities with the safest, highest quality, best-value health care.
For freestanding emergency centers (FECs), this is a volunteer accreditation. Neighbors willingly holds itself to a higher standard of quality operation and clinical care than other FECs who have chosen not to pursue this rigorous accreditation. This elite endorsement aligns with Neighbors’ purpose of providing extraordinary care that is dedicated to Making Lives Better every day.
Besides extraordinary ER care with short wait times, this Neighbors Emergency Center has also brought approximately 30 jobs to the local economy by hiring local board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.
The Brownsville location’s Medical Director is David Haman, MD, and the Facility Director is Jennifer Miner, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients it serves.
“We want to thank the Greater Brownsville community for the opportunity to serve their emergency care needs,” said Haman. “With the fabulous and positive feedback, we will continue to provide the best personalized emergency care in South Texas. We are privileged to provide ER care for City, Country, Boarder Patrol, Public Utility Board and other workers of our community’s large and small businesses.”
Being active in and connected to the Brownsville community is paramount to Neighbors and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.
Neighbors values its strong community ties and was proud to sponsor the 2016 Ocelot 5K that benefitted the Gladys Porter Zoo. Over 600 runners and racing fans attended and were able to run the 5K or 1 mile route past the lion, elephant, gorilla and bear enclosures. Attendees also met the staff of their newest Neighbors Emergency Center, which opened soon after the event. Later when Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville held its public celebration, over 400 people attended the festivities and were able to tour the center, meet medical staff and take home Neighbors giveaways.
As a guardian of the next generation, Neighbors Brownsville joined forces with the Young Lawyers Association and the Brownsville Independent School District to underwrite a mock trial for local high school students. Neighbors was the sole sponsor of this event and enjoyed working with the Young Lawyers Association, BISD and the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office.
Supporting local law enforcement, Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville was proud to be a sponsor of the 2nd Annual “Run with the Police” 5K. This fundraiser benefitted the United Way of Southern Cameron County and was a fun event to promote health and wellness in the community.
Neighbors’ core values of being compassionate and patient-centered; treating patients in a nurturing and honorable way; having friendly and welcoming employees; and always being transparent, accountable and cost-conscious are demonstrated through these and numerous other events that Neighbors Emergency Center Brownsville was proud to participate in during its first year in the community.
