In honor of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we introduce some of the great women who work in the science of healthcare every day in our centers. As only 35% of students enrolled in STEM education, we recognize these women as great role models for girls in science education & beyond. Learn more about some of the amazing women of Neighbors Emergency Center:
Meet Tammy Smith
Tammy is an RN at our Pasadena Neighbors and has worked with us for over 8 years. In 2015, she won our “Smile” award for her friendliness and welcoming nature. When she’s not in scrubs, Tammy loves fashion and is known around the Pasadena center for being very trendy.
Meet Katherine Hajek-Hernandez
Kat, as she is known around the Porter Neighbors, is a Radiology Tech, helping to make our patients feel at ease when they need imaging. She’s been with Neighbors for 5 years, and is an important part of our Porter care team. Kat loves hiking and good food, and she looks forward to returning to traveling once it’s safe again.
Meet Laura Rocchi
Laura is an RN and the Facility Director at our Kingwood Neighbors. She has been with Neighbors for over 10 years and has worked at multiple locations. When Laura’s not working, she loves traveling and ‘glamping’ with her family in their RV, eating Mexican food, and singing karaoke.
Meet Caroline Griffith
Caroline is a Rad Tech at our Kingwood Neighbors, and a crucial member of our Kingwood team. We’re thankful Caroline chose a career in science & healthcare!
We’re grateful these women chose their careers in healthcare! They, along with the many other women who work as physicians, ER techs, and in our corporate office, are crucial to our ability to provide extraordinary emergency care to our communities.
